The Playmakers Basketball Program, features competitive basketball AAU leagues and tournaments that each member can participate in all year long. Each season we offer you the opportuniity to train and work on your fundamental skills, which will improve your overall "game." ...An opportunity to compete for a league championship title.
The Playmakers versus the Pistons, promised to be an exciting game. These two teams have been at the top almost the entire season.
The Playmakers started thing off with a rebound and end to end lay up by Patrick James. Both teams looked a bit nervous at the start.
However, the Playmakers were able to set the tone early with their full court press. They forced the Pistons into three early turnovers as they took a eight point lead midway through the first half.
The Pistons were able to battle back, as they kept feeding the ball inside to their big guy #25.
The Playmakers' center, Jaylis Myles, knocked down a wide open three point shot, as the Playmakers took a four point lead into the half.
Jaylis Myles was turned in a sensational performance, as he led all scores with 12 points, 2 rebounds and 2 block shots.
"Jaylis really stepped his game up today! He provided us with some inside scoring. Plus, he hit two crucial threes," Coach Robinson stated!
In the second half, the Playmakers were able to prevent the Pistons from getting into any consistency on offense.
The Playmakers' Barry Pettway and Quavon Irby, were instrumental in applying tremendous pressure on the ball the entire game. They prevented the Piston's guards from getting the ball up the floor.
Pettway scored 11 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals, as he continued to take the ball to the basket, with cat-like quickness.
The Playmakers were able to outrebound the Piston 18-15, as Quatrell Irby was putting in heavy duty work cleaning the 'boards with 7 rebounds. Quatrell scored 8 points also, while playing remarkable defense.
The Playmakers all came to play today! As each one of them made some kind of contribution to the game.
The Playmakers defense was key in shutting down passing lanes, while their offense seemed to be in gear.
The final score: Playmakers 48, Pistons 34. Good job Playmakers you guys earned it!

Harper Woods High School, Harper Woods, MI - As part of this season's schedule, the Playmakers were invited to participate in the "Midwest Classic" Basketball Tournament, hosted by Midwest Athletics.
The Playmakers were on top of their game the entire day, posting three consecutive victories that culminated with the presentation of the tournament trophy at the end of the day.
"We really worked hard to capture our first aau tournament in the club's brief existence," Coach Robinson said. "Everyone made contributions in all three games, which was the difference," the Coach also added!
The Playmakers took the court at 11 am against the BBC Hoopers 10u team. The final score was: Playmakers 55, Hoopers 10u 17.
In the second game, the Playmakers lined up against Bates Academy, a good perimeter shooting team. The Playmakers were able to play extraordinary defense, which led to them defeating Bates Academy 65-25.
After a 2-0 tournament start, the Playmakers would next encounter the Pistons, a big physical team that can shoot the ball inside and out.
The Playmakers were able to force the Pistons into 20 turnovers, which impacted the outcome of the game.
The Playmakers came back from a four point halftime deficit to win the game 47-35.
After the final game the Playmakers were awarded the official tournament trophy. Great job Playmakers!!!
