"PLAYMAKERS SHUT DOWN PISTONS OFFENSE IN SECOND HALF AND WIN 47-35"
by Jroc
Premier Sports' Sports Writer
In the third and final game of the Midwest Classic, the Playmakers squared off against the Pistons.
The Pistons are a good inside and outside playing team. So the Playmakers would have their work cut out for them if they wanted to win this tournament.
The Playmakers went to work early by pushing the ball up the court quickly. They jumped out to a five point lead, but the Pistons came back to take a one point halftime lead.
The second half saw the Playmakers display their best defensive efforts of the season, by snagging 20 steals in the game.
The Playmakers were led by Quavon Irby's 16 points. Barry Pettway added 15, and Patrick James had 11.
The Playmakers pulled away with their press to win the game 47-35.
